Ancestros: whispers of stories passed from seed to plant to soil to seed again. Which legacies of our inherited past do we choose to preserve or nourish and which do we choose to compost?

This is part 1 of a series I’m currently working on surrounding the veneration of ancestors and the idea that artistic pieces can function as “altars” that help us commemorate and honor ephemeral beings (humans, plants, etc) that hold value in our lives. This process is deeply rooted in my practice of ancestor worship as I lit my altar every time I worked on this piece to continue dialogue with my inner world, the spiritual/ ancestral realm, and the plant world.
